Every IMEI carries a checksum and a model prefix. This free tool verifies both in your browser — nothing is charged and nothing is stored.
What the free check can't tell you
Checksum and TAC data come from the number itself. Carrier, SIM lock, blacklist, activation and warranty status all live in operator and manufacturer records — those need a paid lookup against a device-data provider.

How to find your IMEI
Any phone: dial *#06# and it appears on screen.
iPhone: Settings → General → About, or on the SIM tray of older models.
Android: Settings → About phone → Status information, or on the box label.
